Reading the data

01 What's shown

The six largest luxury groups as a share of the €358B personal luxury goods market, 2025, worldwide.

02 What it shows

The six largest groups hold 39.1% of the market between them. Three-fifths of global personal luxury sits outside them — Rolex, Prada, Swatch Group, L'Oréal Luxe, Puig and hundreds of independent houses. An industry routinely described as consolidated is, by revenue, mostly not.

03 How to read it

  • “All other players” is a residual: the Bain market total minus the six measured groups, not a measured figure. It holds Rolex, Prada, Swatch Group, L'Oréal Luxe, Puig and hundreds of independent houses.
  • LVMH is counted on its personal-luxury divisions only. Wines & Spirits and Selective Retailing are excluded, as they fall outside Bain's personal luxury goods definition. Every other group in the ring is wholly within that definition.
  • Fiscal years differ. Richemont's figure is the year to 31 March 2026; Estée Lauder's is the year to 30 June 2025. The other four are calendar 2025.
  • Chanel reports in US dollars ($19,269M, converted at the ECB 2025 average $1.13/€ = €17.1bn). Estée Lauder reports to 30 June; its dollar figure is converted at the average over its financial year (≈$1.08/€), not the calendar-2025 rate.
  • The residual is calculated as the market total minus the measured groups, so the ring sums to 100% by construction. Individual shares are rounded to one decimal and may not sum exactly to the combined 39.1% figure.
  • Updated after each Bain-Altagamma release, twice a year.
